Bun Kabab

  1. Yellow split chickpeas (chana daal) 1 cup (soaked over night) 
  2. Whole red chillies 11 pieces 
  3. Cumin seeds 1 tbsp 
  4. Onions 2 small ( cut in rings) 
  5. Fresh ginger 2 inch piece 
  6. Fresh garlic 7 pieces 
  7. Potatoes 3 large ( peeled & boiled mash and keep aside) 
  8. Mix spice powder 1 tsp 
  9. Chat masala 1 tsp 
  10. Salt 1 tsp 
  11. Mango powder 1 tsp (amchoor powder) 
  12. Buns round or hot dog buns as required 
  13. Eggs 3 (beat and keep aside) 
  14. Onions 1 medium

Recipe

  1. In an pot boil the potatoes till soft, then discard the water and mash the potatoes and keep aside. 
  2. In a separate pan add split chickpeas, whole red chillies, onion, fresh ginger, fresh garlic, cumin seed & water 4 cups, when it comes to a boil cover and cook till all the liquid dries and the dal is cook perfectly low to medium flame. 
  3. Keep checking as the dal should not loose its shape but should be soft when pressed, in that case increase the flame to high and dry the water. 
  4. Then let the dal mixture cool a bit and then grind adding salt, chat masala, mango powder & mix spice powder and keep it in a bowl. 
  5. Then add the mashed potatoes to the dal mixture and mix very well. 
  6. Now beat the eggs & and make the round shape paty of the dal mix. 
  7. In a frying pan heat oil to shallow fry the paty, but first dip in the beaten eggs and then fry both sides till golden brown medium flame & keep aside. 
  8. Then in a frying pan add a little oil and fry the remaining egg and keep aside. 
  9. Now heat a flat pan and warm the buns with very little oil. 
  10. Now assemble the burgers, first spread the sauce on the bun then the kabab on it a little more sacue, fried egg, onions and if u want can also add ketchup and put the other half of the bun on top.
  11. Serve hot with fries.
