Chicken Manchurian

Ingredients

  1. Boneless Chicken (cubed) 1 kg
  2. Salt as per taste
  3. Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
  4. Whole Red Chillies 4-6 (crushed)
  5. White Pepper Powder 1 tsp
  6. Vinegar 2-3 tbsp
  7. Soya Sauce 4 tbsp
  8. Chilli Sauce 2 tbsp
  9. Sugar 1 tsp
  10. Chinese Salt 1 tsp
  11. Tomato Paste 1/2 cup
  12. Tomato Ketchup 2 tbsp
  13. Stock 2 cup
  14. Cooking Oil 4-6 tbsp
  15. Corn Flour 2 tbsp (mixed with 5 tbsp stock)
  16. Carrot (julienne) 2 tbsp
  17. Capsicum (julienne) 2 tbsp
  18. For Marination:
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Vinegar 2 tbsp
  21. Soya Sauce 2 tbsp
  22. Sugar 1/2 tsp

Recipe

  1. Marinate the chicken in marination ingredients.
  2. Keep aside for half an hour.
  3. In a pot, heat cooking oil on high flame.
  4. Saute garlic paste in it for a while and add chicken (don't let the garlic change color).
  5. Fry the chicken on high heat till color changes and remove it from the pot.
  6. In the same pot, heat a little oil.
  7. Add in tomato paste, ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, soya sauce, salt, Chinese salt, sugar, crushed chillies and white pepper.
  8. Bring it to a simmer and add in stock.
  9. Bring it to a simmer and add in chicken, capsicum and carrot.
  10. Then add in corn flour paste while mixing.
  11. Simmer it till gravy thickens, turn off the heat.
  12. Serve hot with boiled rice or fried rice.
