Matar Paneer
- Paneer 265g (3 packets cottage cheese cut in 1 inch pieces and fry till golden)
- Peas 1 cup (boiled)
- Onions 1 medium (sliced)
- Tomatoes 2 medium (chopped)
- Double cream 1/2 cup
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
- Fresh ginger 1&1/2 inch piece (sliced)
- Green chilli 2 (sliced)
- Garam masala powder 1 tsp
- Dry fenugreek leaves 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick 1 piece
- Oil 3/4 cup
- Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Recipe
- Heat half of the oil add onions, ginger, green chilli fry on high flame till gets soft.
- Then add tomato, salt, red chilli, coriander powder, turmeric, garam masala, water 1/2 cup mix and cook on high flame till the tomatoes get soft.
Then let it cool and grind to a paste.
- Heat the remaining oil add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, grinned masala mix well add the fried paneer, peas, water 1 cup, fenugreek leaves mix cover and cook on low to medium for 5 minutes.
- Now add the cream mix cover and simmer for 1 minute on low flame.
- Garnish it with little cream.
- Serve hot with chapati or rice.
