Channa Daal

Ingredients


  1. Daal Channa 250g (washed & soaked over night)
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  4. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  5. Onion 1 large (finely sliced)
  6. Tomatoes 2 large (finely sliced)
  7. Bullet green chilli 3 (sliced)
  8. Garlic 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  10. Crushed red chilli 1/2 tsp
  11. Ghee/oil 1/2 cup

Recipe


  1. In a pan add Channa Daal, salt, red chilli, turmeric, water 5 cups, wait for a boil on high flame then lower the flame to medium cover and cook till the chickpeas are tender.
  2. In a pan heat ghee add onion and fry till gets golden on high flame.
  3. Then add tomatoes, crushed red chilli, garam masala, garlic cook on low to medium flame till the tomatoes are softened & ghee comes on surface.
  4. Now add green chilli mix and add this to the cooked chickpeas mix well, cover and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with naan or roti.
