Channa Daal
Ingredients
- Daal Channa 250g (washed & soaked over night)
- Salt 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Onion 1 large (finely sliced)
- Tomatoes 2 large (finely sliced)
- Bullet green chilli 3 (sliced)
- Garlic 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
- Crushed red chilli 1/2 tsp
- Ghee/oil 1/2 cup
Recipe
- In a pan add Channa Daal, salt, red chilli, turmeric, water 5 cups, wait for a boil on high flame then lower the flame to medium cover and cook till the chickpeas are tender.
- In a pan heat ghee add onion and fry till gets golden on high flame.
- Then add tomatoes, crushed red chilli, garam masala, garlic cook on low to medium flame till the tomatoes are softened & ghee comes on surface.
- Now add green chilli mix and add this to the cooked chickpeas mix well, cover and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with naan or roti.
