Fish n Chips
- Fish flay ½ kg
- Egg 1
- Oil for frying
- Chilled water 1 cup
- Plain flour 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper powder to taste
- Vinegar 1 tsp
- Baking powder ¼ tsp
- For Potato Chips:
- Potato 1/2 kg
- Corn flour 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
Recipe
- Cut fish flay into 8 pieces.
- Apply vinegar and leave aside for 10 minutes.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, egg and water in a large bowl to make batter.
- Coat fish pieces in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
- For Potato Chips:
- Cut potato in ¼ inch thick chips.
- Soak in chilled water for 40 minutes and strain.
- Fry in hot oil for 2 minutes and drain on a paper towel.
- Coat fries with ¼ cup corn flour and put them in freezer.
- Fry the frozen chips in hot oil until golden.
- Season with salt and serve with fish, lemon quarter, mushy peas and tartar sauce.
