Fish Pilau (Pilaf)

Ingredients

  1. Fish ½ kg
  2. Rice 300 gm (soaked)
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  4. All spice powder 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt 1 tsp
  7. Oil as required
  8. Clarified butter ½ cup
  9. Onion 2
  10. All spice as required (whole)
  11. Green chilies 4 – 5
  12. Curry leaves 10 – 12
  13. White cumin seeds 1 tsp
  14. Black cumin seeds 1 tsp
  15. Tomatoes 2 (boiled, chopped)

Recipe

  1. Cut fish into small cubes, marinate with ginger garlic paste, all spice powder, turmeric and a little salt.
  2. Now shallow fry the fish with a little oil.
  3. Now remove from oil and keep aside.
  4. Heat clarified butter in a pan, add onion, whole all spice green chilies, curry leaves, white cumin seeds and black cumin seeds, fry well for a few minutes.
  5. Then add 1 ½ glass of water, cook till it comes to a boil.
  6. Add in rice, mix well and cook till rice comes on top.
  7. Now top with tomatoes and fried fish.
  8. Mix gently, simmer on low flame for 8 – 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
