Pakora (Pakoray)
- Gram flour (besan) - 4 to 5 cups
- Potatoes - 4 large sized (pealed and cut in to thin slices)
- Onions - 2 large sized
- Green chilli - 4 to 5 chopped
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- All spices (garam masala) 1tsp
- Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1tsp
- Coriander powder 1 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder 1 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek leaves 7 to 8 tbsp
Recipe
- To prepare the batter, in a bowl add the onions, potatoes and fenugreek leaves, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, all spices (garam masala), red chilli powder and gram flour.
- Mix well.
If the batter is still dry, add tiny bit of water and keep mixing and checking the texture of the batter.
- In a deep pan, add enough oil and make it hot.
- Taking table spoons of the batter, add them in the pan turn by turn.
- Make sure each table spoon that you add in the pan does not over lap the previously added table spoon of pakora.
- Cook the pakoras till each side is dark brown and fully cooked.
- Serve with ketchup or chutney.
