Namak Paray (Namak Pare)
Ingredients
- Plain flour (Maida) 1/2 cup
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Oil/Ghee/Clarified Butter 1 & 1/2 tbsp
- Ajwain seeds (Carom seeds) 1/4 tsp
- Water as required for kneading
- Oil for frying
Recipe
- In a bowl add plain flour, salt and carom seeds mix it, then add oil and water to make a hard dough.
- Cover and keep for 1/2 hour.
- Dust the surface with a little flour, roll the dough really thin.
- Now take a sharp knife and cut into namak para shapes (Diamond Shapes) at 1 inch distance.
- The oil should be hot, add each piece and fry it on low to medium flame till golden.
- Once it is cooked it will float on the top of the oil.
- Serve hot.
