Potato Chickpea Salad (Aloo Channay)

Ingredients

  1. Chickpea (Safaid Channay) 1/2 kg
  2. Potato 1 & 1/2 kg
  3. Onions 3
  4. Tomatoes 5
  5. Mint (Pudina) half bunch
  6. Green Chillies 2
  7. Yogurt 1 & 1/2 kg
  8. Salt 3 tsp
  9. Chat Masala 1 tsp
  10. All spice powder (Garam Masala) 1/2 tsp
  11. Lemon 3 tbsp
  12. Tamarind (Imli) 3 tbsp

Recipe

  1. Boil chick pea with 1 tbsp salt. (It'll take almost 10 minutes in presure cooker)
  2. Boil potatoes. (Check with a fork if it goes easily inside it then there are totally cooked)
  3. Cut onions and tomatoes in small pieces
  4. In yogurt, green chillies and mint and grind it.
  5. Add tamarind in a bowl add half cup water in it mix it well with your hands till the water is black.
  6. Now stain water in other bowl.
  7. In a large bowl add boiled chickpea, potato, onions, tomatoes, yogurt, tamarind water, salt, chat masala, all spice powder, lemon and mix well.
  8. Serve cold.
