Potato Chickpea Salad (Aloo Channay)
Ingredients
- Chickpea (Safaid Channay) 1/2 kg
- Potato 1 & 1/2 kg
- Onions 3
- Tomatoes 5
- Mint (Pudina) half bunch
- Green Chillies 2
- Yogurt 1 & 1/2 kg
- Salt 3 tsp
- Chat Masala 1 tsp
- All spice powder (Garam Masala) 1/2 tsp
- Lemon 3 tbsp
- Tamarind (Imli) 3 tbsp
Recipe
- Boil chick pea with 1 tbsp salt. (It'll take almost 10 minutes in presure cooker)
- Boil potatoes. (Check with a fork if it goes easily inside it then there are totally cooked)
- Cut onions and tomatoes in small pieces
- In yogurt, green chillies and mint and grind it.
- Add tamarind in a bowl add half cup water in it mix it well with your hands till the water is black.
- Now stain water in other bowl.
- In a large bowl add boiled chickpea, potato, onions, tomatoes, yogurt, tamarind water, salt, chat masala, all spice powder, lemon and mix well.
- Serve cold.
