Vegetable Pilau

Ingredients


  1. Oil 1 cup
  2. Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
  3. Onions 2 medium (chopped)
  4. Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp (heeped)
  5. Water 3,4 tbsp
  6. Green chillies 4,5 (sliced)
  7. Mix vegetables 1kg (peas, potatoes, carrots or any veg you like...)
  8. Salt 3 tsp or according to you taste
  9. Garam Masala 1 tsp
  10. Chinese salt 1 tsp
  11. Water half cup (This is to cook vegetables)
  12. Water 6 cup (This is to cook rice)
  13. Rice 1 kg (washed and soaked for 10 - 20 minutes)

Recipe


  1. Wash the rice and soak it for 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. In a large pot heat the oil then add cumin seeds, ginger & garlic paste, onions and cook on high flame till golden brown.
  3. Then add 3,4 tbsp water and stir well
  4. Then add the green chillies and stir for 2 minutes
  5. Now add the the vegetables, salt, chinese salt and garam masala then add water half cup for vegetables to cook.
  6. When vegetables are totally cooked add waterwater 6 cups to cook rice.
  7. Now add rice (The water should not be more or less than 1 1/2 inch over the rice.)
  8. When the water dries  cover the lid with tea towel and simmer for first 10 minutes high flame and then 5 minutes on low flame.
  9. Serve hot
