Vegetable Pilau
Ingredients
- Oil 1 cup
- Cumin Seeds 1 tsp
- Onions 2 medium (chopped)
- Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp (heeped)
- Water 3,4 tbsp
- Green chillies 4,5 (sliced)
- Mix vegetables 1kg (peas, potatoes, carrots or any veg you like...)
- Salt 3 tsp or according to you taste
- Garam Masala 1 tsp
- Chinese salt 1 tsp
- Water half cup (This is to cook vegetables)
- Water 6 cup (This is to cook rice)
- Rice 1 kg (washed and soaked for 10 - 20 minutes)
Recipe
- Wash the rice and soak it for 15 to 20 minutes.
- In a large pot heat the oil then add cumin seeds, ginger & garlic paste, onions and cook on high flame till golden brown.
- Then add 3,4 tbsp water and stir well
- Then add the green chillies and stir for 2 minutes
- Now add the the vegetables, salt, chinese salt and garam masala then add water half cup for vegetables to cook.
- When vegetables are totally cooked add waterwater 6 cups to cook rice.
- Now add rice (The water should not be more or less than 1 1/2 inch over the rice.)
- When the water dries cover the lid with tea towel and simmer for first 10 minutes high flame and then 5 minutes on low flame.
- Serve hot
