Chinyoti Pilau
Ingredients
- Chicken 1kg (cut in 12 pieces)
- Rice 750g (washed & soaked for 20 min)
- Onions 2 medium (finely sliced)
- Tomatoes 2 large (chopped in four pieces)
- Dried plum 12
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp (heaped)
- Salt 2 tbsp
- Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Cloves 1 tsp
- Cinnamon stick 2 pieces
- Cumin seedes 1 & 1/2 tsp
- Black cardamom 3
- Black pepper corn 1 tsp
- Green chilli 10
- Oil 1 cup
- Water 5 cups
Recipe
- In a pan add chicken, tomatoes, dried plums, green chilli, cloves black pepper corn, cinnamon stick, black cardamom, cumin seeds, red chilli, salt, ginger & garlic paste, water mix and wait for a boil on high flame, then cook on medium flame till the chicken is cooked and stock is ready. (can add more water if it dries fast)
- Once cooked remove the chicken and keep aside.
- Heat oil fry the onions till golden on high flame.
- Now add the chicken and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the washed and soaked rice, and the stock, cook on high flame covered till the stock dries.
- Now cover the lid with a tea towel and simmer on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
